Set in Rhode Island’s state capital of Providence, Brown University was founded in 1864 – making it the third oldest university in New England. Head to College Hill in east Providence for a visit to all 143 acres of Brown, and catch everything from Ivy League conference games to films festivals and shopping.

Brown is home to nearly 40 varsity athletic teams – fans of which are known as Brunonians. Join Bruno the Bear at Murray Stadium for some baseball, or catch a game of basketball at the Pizzitola Sports Center. During football season, grab a seat in Brown Stadium as the Brown Bears take on other Ivy League programs. Brown University is also the site of the Ivy Film Festival – an enormous gathering of student filmmakers and writers happening each April. Thirsty?
